Brochure

After spending a lot of time on my logo to try and perfect the little areas, I started to look in to brochures a little more and what type I’m going to be making.

I looked on google and found these….

I prefer the trifold which looks like a triangle when all corners are touching, I think this way I can have both sides covered and If I’m wanting to I could also have a double page spread in the middle of the brochure. I knew from the start I didn’t want to make a simple gate brochure like most are made so thought as the barber is a little unique why not make the brochure and logo all unique.

Some ideas to use in the brochure are to keep the triangle effect from the logo on the pages but have the opacity low so you can still read on top of the image.

Barber Brochure

I looked online for some ideas regarding barbers and brochures and this is what I found….

I really love the last brochure that I found it looks very modern and fun which would catch the eye of the target audience. This helped me with an idea to make mine a little interactive but keep it professional and modern.

I wanted to look at some creative type of brochures and came across these….

this gave me the idea of the stages of growing a beard, how much it costs, treatment for that type of beard.

I really like this purely for the fact its small and handle to deal with and how it is so different to any other type of brochure.

French Research

After reading the brief for the barber shop, I noticed that I was to research all things french.

Firstly looked at the fashion of french men….

I find that french males seem to dress rather smart but still casual, a lot of famous designers are french. French males are often seen in dull colours such as black, white, blue, grey and brown.

Famous French Designers

Louis Vitton

Saint Laurent

Chanel

I feel like I would need to include the obvious barber equipment like scissors and comb in to the logo. But I may try and add a french twist to it some how,

Font?

I have a brief idea of the font for the logo, I was thinking as people tend to stereotype beards and moustache’s as an indie look of today’s society.

After looking at the fashion with mend today on pinterest and fashion for men with beards is a very “indie” look. Men seem to be rocking the double denim look and most of the colours are; blue, white and black. Which helps me think of an idea for the colour palette, firstly black and white are not allowed to count towards the palette, so looking at browns, blues and maybe a grey type of colour will refer to the logo and brand.
